Become an Ambassador. Become a Penpal.

Join our global village and walk beside a Little Lion through friendship, encouragement, and shared hope — starting now.

A village needs more than funding — it needs people who care.

Ambassadors are the friends, story tellers, mentors and champions who help our children and teachers feel supported and inspired. In Kibera, life can be heavy, with few examples of people really making it out. A simple message of encouragement, a shared story, or a caring connection from the outside world can change how a Little Lions sees themselves - and what they believe is possible.

You don't need special skills, just a big heart and a consistent commitment.

Program Areas That Make a Lasting Difference

Every program we run is designed to meet the real needs of children — with love at the center and impact that lasts.

01
Penpal Program

Little Lions have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge about the world that they are growing up into. They love receiving letters and videos from children across the world showing them about their lives, and asking for us to share on ours. These penpalships are deeply rewarding for all the children and we hope can form the bedrock of lasting relationships.

02
School Partnerships

Our 'school connect' program is a really effective way of giving children context, feeding their curiosity, inspiring compassion and care between cultures. Through shared stories, letters, and simple projects, children from across the world learn about the global village and inspire our Little Lions to dream beyond the slum

03
Storytelling Ambassador

We welcome ambassadors open to use their platforms and their empathy to amplify our work to the world. You can share updates online, join us in Kenya on guided tours or residencies, host small fundraisers or simply help amplify our work across the world.

Fuel Hope Through Connection

Advocacy turns friendship and storytelling into real strength for our children — today, not someday.

Confidence Grows

Encouragement from an Ambassador helps children believe in themselves — and in a future beyond Kibera.

Hope Becomes Real

Your steady presence fuels hope day by day — the kind of hope that turns into ambition and action.

A Bigger World Opens Up

Penpals and school partnerships show our children they belong to a global community, not just the slum.

Stories Are Shared with Dignity

Ambassadors help us tell Kibera’s stories with honor, so the world sees the bravery and beauty here — not just the hardship.

You Become Part of Their Village

This is relationship, not charity. Your care becomes part of the safe, loving circle raising each Little Lion.

Stronger Community Around Each Child

Your steady presence fuels hope day by day — the kind of hope that turns into ambition and action.

Have Questions? We’ve Got Answers

Do I need to sponsor a child to become an Ambassador?

You can support us in many ways: by making a donation, sponsoring a child, volunteering your time, or sharing our mission with others. Visit our Get Involved page to see all the ways you can make an impact.

What kinds of advocacy can I choose from?

Your involvement is as best suits you and fits your schedule, everything from hosting fundraising dinners, doing group calls with the team and potential sponsors, posting or re-posting about us.

How much time does it take?

Whatever works for you, as little or as much as you like.

How does the penpal program work?

We'll connect you or your child(ren) to a child or group of children, and we can then communicate by post or email as you see fit. We currently have a program running with a school in Chicago where the teacher is making little films with the class that they share with us in Notion and we then share back.

Is this program child-safe?

The goal is to create connection, understanding and partnership. Everything is directed by the children's curiosity.
